Sustainability Leaders Program for High School Students
About Sustainability Leaders Program
An innovative educational initiative aimed at creating awareness and fostering active engagement among school students in the crucial area of waste management. The program seeks to empower students to become advocates of sustainable waste management practices, and learn how to make an impact, thereby contributing to a cleaner and greener environment. By mentoring thousands of students, Sustainability Leaders Program aims to grow into an impactful Sustainability Movement.
Our Movement
Recognizing the potential impact of involving students in the Swacch Bharat Mission to sustain source segregation of waste, this structured internship program is designed to give students hands on experience in door-to-door waste segregation campaigns and collaborating with waste collectors, ragpickers, and sanitary workers. Students attempt to understand the waste management eco-system and build solutions.
The program is designed for students from Class 8th to 12th and is divided into two phases: a 4-week beginner's program followed by 4-weeks advanced program.
Through this program, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of waste management, critical thinking, public speaking, and research skills. The program's hands-on approach ensures that students actively engage with waste-related challenges and propose practical solutions. By participating in field visits, interacting with stakeholders, and conducting research, students will develop a deep connection to the cause of waste management.
