About Me

My name is Suhani Sharma, and I have been living in Chandigarh for almost my whole life. I see myself as an enterprising person who wants to live and explore life to its full potential. I find working for the society and betterment of others extremely rewarding. I used to accompany and assist my elder sister in her campaign for door-to-door solid waste segregation in the Kharar and Mohali region. We created awareness amongst people, encouraged public participation and tried to change social mindsets. I even made a couple award winning youtube videos on sustainable living, and green practices that I follow. I also conducted weekly tutoring sessions for the underprivileged kids. It was an extremely wholesome and rewarding experience. Besides serving the society I have other areas of interest as well, each in synergy with others, enthusing me with zest and exuberance. I have consistently excelled in academics- recently having scored 99% in the Board Examinations and topping the nation-wide science exam- Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan. I love physics and chemistry, and am not afraid of going into the nitty gritty of things and dedicating long hours into learning new concepts and doing application based questions. I have been actively involved in debating and have represented and brought accolades to the school at the national level. Debating has helped hone my speaking skills, boost my self confidence and develop critical thinking and argumentation skills. I have always been into sports, last year I got to be the lead and represent the Chandigarh Squash team in the 36th national games held in Gujarat and I am grateful to be one of the top Female Squash Players in Chandigarh. I also love to do cubing in my free time and have broken the 4x4 Female National Record. Squash and Cubing have made me disciplined, determined and persevering. I find journaling and playing music instruments the best way to unwind and relax after a hectic day. I have even given many live tabla and piano performances and my essay ‘Not everything we find online is true! ‘got published by the UNESCO Digital Library ‘Year 1AC (After Coronavirus) - Essays by 100 Young Indians.’ I love learning new things and constantly improving and building myself into a holistically developed person.
