Kudos to the community Facilitators: Field Visits

It is heartening to see the program progressing as the school nodal teachers and the district nodal officers are updating the activity tracker and we are able to share data through our website header, Students’ works



Over 23,000 students having visited on-ground waste management facilities, understanding the importance of source segregation of waste into wet waste, dry waste and domestic hazardous waste. 


The 130 community facilitators working with the urban local bodies were mapped to all these schools and have done a great job successfully conducting the field visits and sensitising students. Many Municipal Corporation Commissioners, Executive Officers and other officers also joined hands and encouraged students in this campaign to keep our cities clean and sustain source segregation of waste. Students were advised to resist throwing of garbage on open plots and roadsides and avoid using single use plastic and thermocol items in daily life. The District Nodal officers, the school nodal teachers, the community facilitators have been contributing immensely in developing Sustainability Leaders.


Students have visited the compost units, understanding how to make compost out of wet waste.





Students saw innovative ways of making e-carts for segregated waste collection from households. 


Students visited Material Recovery Facilities to see the processing of dry waste 



Many schools have organised workshops on source segregation of waste and keeping our surroundings clean



The community facilitators organised demonstrations on waste segregation in the schools which could not go on field visits.



And many schools have engaged students in cleanliness drives


Students participated in door-to-door campaigns in their communities to encourage source segregation


Some schools organised cycle rallies to promote the cause


Schools conducted workshops to make Best out of waste



Many schools formed Eco-Clubs, Cleanliness Clubs. Over 30,000 students have registered on the program website this year from 461 schools. The details are as below:
